Key Takeaways
A neutral buyer's guide to Vanta alternatives. It explains why teams look beyond Vanta, what to evaluate for a single company versus an MSP, MSSP or vCISO practice, how Drata, Secureframe, Thoropass, Cynomi and GetCybr are positioned on their own websites, and when Vanta may still be the better fit.
Vanta is a widely recognised name in compliance automation, and plenty of teams are happy with it. Others start comparing options for reasons that have little to do with whether the product is good: the pricing model, the audit route, or the fact that a tool built around one company’s compliance programme does not map neatly onto a practice that serves many clients.
This guide is written for two kinds of reader: people responsible for one company’s compliance, and MSPs, MSSPs and vCISO practices that deliver compliance as a service. It explains what to evaluate first, then summarises how several alternatives describe themselves. Every vendor statement below comes from that vendor’s own website, read on 5 November 2026 and listed in the sources. Vendors change plans and wording often, so treat this as a starting point and confirm details with each vendor before you buy.
Commonly compared alternatives are Drata, Secureframe, Thoropass, Cynomi and GetCybr; jump to Alternatives to Vanta for short summaries.

Why teams look for Vanta alternatives
Common reasons are practical rather than dramatic:
- Price visibility. Vanta’s pricing page, when read on 5 November 2026, shows plans but no prices and invites you to request personalised pricing. That is common in this market, but it makes early budgeting harder for small teams and for practices that need to quote clients quickly.
- Plan boundaries. On the same page, the Essentials plan includes one compliance framework. If you need several, you will want to know which plan covers them and what that costs.
- A different buying unit. A company buys one workspace for itself. A service provider needs many client workspaces, a consistent view across them, and a price per client rather than per organisation.
- Audit route. Some buyers prefer a vendor that also performs the audit; others prefer to pick an independent auditor. Platforms differ here.
- Ownership of the client experience. A practice selling its own service usually wants reports and portals in its own name.
None of these means Vanta is the wrong tool. They are the questions that decide whether it is the right one for you.
What to evaluate
Work through these criteria in order. The first four apply to everyone; the rest matter most for service providers.
1. Frameworks you actually need, and how they are packaged. List the frameworks your customers or clients are asked for (for example SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, Cyber Essentials, CMMC or DORA). Then check whether each is included in the plan you would buy, or priced as an extra. A headline framework count tells you little; whether your frameworks are in the plan tells you a lot.
2. Evidence collection and integrations. Check the integrations that matter for your stack, not the total. Vendors quote different kinds of counts (native integrations, tools, connectors), so ask for the list and test the ones you use.
3. Audit route. Decide whether you want the audit and the software from one provider or prefer to choose an independent auditor, and check what each platform supports.
4. Pricing transparency and contract shape. Ask for a written quote that states framework count, entity count, users, term length and renewal terms. If a vendor publishes prices, note the date you read them.
5. Client isolation (service providers). Can each client’s data, users and evidence be kept separate while you see all clients in one place? Ask to see this with real data, not slides.
6. Branding (service providers). Check what a client sees: your name or the vendor’s, on the portal, the reports and the emails.
7. Pricing unit (service providers). Per client, per framework, per user or per entity each produces a different cost curve as your client base grows. Model ten clients and forty clients before you commit.
8. Partner terms (service providers). Several vendors operate partner programmes. Ask what discounts, support, training and co-marketing apply, and whether the product itself changes for partners.
9. Exit. Confirm how you export evidence, policies and reports if you leave.
Alternatives to Vanta
The summaries below are deliberately short and limited to what each vendor states publicly. Where something is not published, we say so rather than guess.
Drata
Drata is the vendor most often compared with Vanta for a single company. Its pricing page, read on 5 November 2026, lists Foundation, Advanced and Enterprise compliance tiers. Foundation includes one pre-mapped framework chosen from SOC 2, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, HIPAA and GDPR, while the higher tiers include any available framework. Its framework menu also names DORA, FedRAMP and CMMC. No prices are published. Drata’s partners page lists Channel Partners, Technology Partners and Auditors programmes. See GetCybr vs Drata for a direct comparison, and our companion guide on Drata alternatives.
Secureframe
Secureframe’s pricing page lists Fundamentals, Complete and Defense packages, states 300+ native integrations, and shows no prices. It also lists access to its Audit Partner Network on its higher-tier packages. For service providers, its partners page describes a Service Partners track aimed at developing and scaling Secureframe-powered managed security and compliance services.
Thoropass
Thoropass positions itself differently: it describes itself as a licensed auditor that delivers audits, supported by its own software. That is attractive if you want one provider for both the platform and the audit, and less so if you prefer to choose your auditor independently. Its pricing is described as a tailored quote based on the frameworks, audit scope, company size and services required. It lists a broad set of frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA and PCI DSS.
Cynomi
Cynomi is aimed at service providers rather than single companies. Its website describes a platform for MSPs, MSSPs and advisory and vCISO firms, and states mapping to 40+ frameworks. Its pricing page states pricing is on a per account basis and publishes no prices. If you run a vCISO practice, it belongs on your shortlist; see GetCybr vs Cynomi.
Comparison at a glance
All entries are as stated on each vendor’s own website on 5 November 2026. “Not published” means we did not find it on the pages listed in the sources.

|---|---|---|---|
| Vanta | Essentials, Plus, Professional, Enterprise | No, personalised pricing | Partner programme for service providers |
| Drata | Foundation, Advanced, Enterprise | No | Channel Partners programme |
| Secureframe | Fundamentals, Complete, Defense | No | Service Partners track |
| Thoropass | Not published | No, tailored quote | Partners page, details not published |

When Vanta may be the better fit
Be honest about this before you move. Vanta may be the stronger choice when:
- You are one company preparing for your own audit and do not need to manage other organisations.
- Integration breadth matters most. Vanta’s pricing page states automatic data pull from 400+ tools, a larger headline figure than the other counts quoted above, although counts are defined differently by each vendor.
- You want a widely recognised brand that auditors, customers and procurement teams already know.
- You already run on Vanta and the switching cost exceeds the problem you are trying to solve.
- You want to work through a partner. Vanta states that its programme supports service firms, with partner-only resources such as support, training and co-marketing.
If those describe you, a comparison may simply confirm your existing choice, which is a good outcome.
Where GetCybr fits
GetCybr is built for MSPs, MSSPs and vCISO practices that run compliance for many clients from one multi-client workspace, with the client portal and reports in the practice’s own brand. It is less suited to a single company that wants a platform for its own audit only. For that case, one of the vendors above is a more natural match.
Standard is bought à la carte at public rates: Monitor ($49/client/month), Audit ($99/client/month), and Comply ($199/client/month). Tiers are cumulative: Comply includes Audit, and Audit includes Monitor. Combined Monitor, Audit, and Comply units receive 0% below 10, 10% at 10–24, and 20% at 25+, with a further 15% discount for annual prepay. Brand (white-label portal, marketing kit, custom frameworks) and Connect (SSO/SCIM, standard API integrations, BYOK) are included for every account at no add-on fee. Enterprise is quoted through the Become a partner page and is not calculated in the builder. GetCybr Comply is platform software only; the human vCISO is supplied and priced separately.
Use the public Standard pricing builder to configure client engagements and billing cadence without sharing your details. GetCybr is newer to market than the vendors above and lists seven native integrations today, so check that your stack is covered. If you are a practice evaluating this, ask about the partner programme.
A fair way to run the comparison
- Write down your ten must-have criteria from the list above, and weight them.
- Shortlist three platforms, including the one you use today.
- Give each vendor the same real scenario, for example one SOC 2 client and one ISO 27001 client.
- Ask for a written quote with entity count, framework count, term and renewal terms.
- Score against your criteria, then check each claim against the vendor’s own site, as we did here.
- Run a short pilot before signing a multi-year term.
